Guide / MCP invoicing
What is MCP invoicing?
The short answer
MCP invoicing means sending real invoices from the AI chat you already work in. You describe the job in one sentence. The assistant prepares the invoice with a PDF and a payment link. You approve it. It sends.
No job left unbilled. Send invoices from inside Claude and ChatGPT. No monthly fee.
01 / MCP in plain English
A standard socket for AI tools.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use real business tools, not just generate text about them.
Think of it as a standard socket. An assistant that speaks MCP can plug into any tool that offers it, with your permission, and do real work in your accounts.
Before MCP, an assistant could tell you how to write an invoice. With MCP, it can open your invoicing account and prepare the invoice itself, then hand it to you for approval.
02 / What it means
Invoicing from the chat you already work in.
No context switch
The invoice happens in the same window where you planned the job and answered the client. No export, no retyping, no second app to open.
No Sunday-night pile
You invoice at the assignment, in one sentence, instead of rebuilding the month from your calendar.
No new tool to learn
If you can describe the job, you can invoice it. The assistant handles line items, rates, dates, and totals.
03 / How it works here
Real tools, real guardrails.
16 TOOLS
One connection, the whole account
Create, send, and track invoices. Manage clients and per-agency billing rules. Pull aging reports, 1099 summaries, and a tax set-aside estimate. Record payments that arrive outside Stripe.
OAUTH
Scoped access, no keys
You connect with OAuth and pick a scope: read-only or full access. No API keys, no shared password. Revoke any time.
APPROVAL
Drafts never touch payment
A draft emails no one and holds no live payment link. The Stripe link is created at send time, after you confirm in the chat.
Setup takes minutes: see the Claude guide or the ChatGPT guide.
04 / The category
No job left unbilled.
That is the category, and the rule it runs on. Every finished job becomes a sent invoice at the moment the work ends. Not at month end. Not after calendar archaeology. If the work is done, the invoice is done.
The 17-invoice months, the rates you forgot to update, the money you earned and never collected: that is what this category ends. MCP invoicing is the mechanism. No job left unbilled is the standard it is held to.
05 / Pricing
Free. Actually free.
No subscription, no invoice limits, no trial clock. You pay 5.9% + $0.59 only when a client pays through Stripe, so we make money when you do.

What does MCP stand for?
Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call real tools, like your invoicing account, instead of only generating text.
Do I need to install anything?
No. There is no plugin, extension, or download. You paste one server address into Claude or ChatGPT, approve access, and start asking for invoices.
Can the assistant send an invoice by itself?
No. Assistants can draft and preview, but a draft never sends on its own. Sending needs your explicit confirmation, and with MCP the payment link is created at send time, after you confirm.
What can the assistant actually do?
Sixteen tools: create, send, and track invoices, manage clients and per-agency billing rules, pull aging reports, 1099 summaries, and a tax set-aside estimate, and record payments you received outside Stripe.
Is my data safe with an AI assistant connected?
The connection uses OAuth, so the assistant never gets your password or Stripe credentials. Scopes limit what it can do, invoice actions are audited, and you can revoke access any time.
What does it cost?
Free. No subscription and no monthly fee. You pay 5.9% + $0.59 only when a client pays an invoice through Stripe.
No job left unbilled
